Baseball season is upon us once again or as we like to call it, hot dog and beer season. The Padres’ big acquisition of Manny Machado is giving Padre fans a boost of confidence for the upcoming season. Padres start the season at Petco Park against the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, March 28th. Whether you’re attending Opening Day or plan to catch the games at your local bar after work, Hoplight Social has taken the work out of planning. 10 Barrel Brewing Co. – Season Kick-Off
After the game is over make your way to 10 Barrel for the best opening day special around. For just $10 you’ll receive a 20 oz pint, hot dog, and padres themed 10 Barrel hat. 10 Barrel’s Opening Day Post Party will help keep the party going with live music from DEVVLOV on the roof from 5-9 p.m. Additionally, 10 Barrel is paying homage to Manny with their $6 Manny Machado Micheladas all day long.
East Village – 2019 Opening Day Block Party
The 9th annual East Village Opening Day Block Party will be in full swing Thursday, March 28 from 10 am to 2:30 pm and Friday, March 29 from 12 pm to 7:30 pm. It will be difficult to miss the Block Party, as it will be located in front of Petco Park on J St. between 6th and 10th Ave. The FREE family-friendly event features, games, live entertainment – featuring local bands and DJs, baseball-themed beverages, and tasty grub. Of course there’s also a Craft Beer and Spirits garden serving local brews for all the thirsty fans.
Mission Brewery – Opening Weekend
Mission Brewery is hosting all weekend long. They will have food trucks, photo-booths, and beer specials. Their “Cannon & Koozie Special Release Promotion” features their new Friar’s Gold Hazy IPA, a New England Style Hazy IPA with huge notes of mango & papaya and a 7.2% ABV. Drink specials include $3 drafts from 3 pm-6 pm on Thursday March 28 and $5 drafts from 12 pm – 6pm on Friday March 29.
Bay City Brewing Co. – The 2019 Opening Day Live Hang
Bay City along with Voice of San Diego, and The Kept Faith are hosting an opening day after party. Celebrate the beginning of Manny Machado era with great food and a raffle to support the Monarch School. The Kept Faith, a San Diego sports blog, will be recording their podcast live! Make sure to check out their newest hazy IPA, Murky Machado.
Melvin Brewing – Padres Opening Day Shenanigans
Melvin Brewing will open their doors at 11 am in celebration of opening day. Start your morning at Melvin with game time drink specials, lyft ride incentives, and much more. Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Petco Park, this is a perfect place to start your day.
Petco Park – Party in the Park
Petco is kicking off opening weekend the San Diego way, with a beer fest. Friday, March 29 enjoy pre-game happy hour drink specials and live music from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Petco is known for supporting their local breweries and Party in the Park will be no exception.
