Special Back to School Night Fundraiser at Encontro North Park, August 23

We love going out to popular craft beer bars throughout San Diego to enjoy their extensive, ever changing draft beer lists, along side their delicious craft food options. It makes the experience even better when they have fundraising events going on because we get the added benefit that we are also giving back to our community.

Encontro North Park is one of our go to spots and they happen to be putting on a Back to School Fundraiser on Tuesday, August 23 from 6-10pm. Low-income youth are said to be 5 times more likely to drop out of school, so this event has hopes to not only raise awareness about this, but to help fight against this sad statistic. They will be collecting unwrapped school supplies and essentials to be donated to the children involved in the Project Access Program. This program’s mission is to be the leading provider of vital on-site health, education and employment services to low-income families, children and seniors. Their goal is to give low income families the tools needed to break the cycle of poverty, become healthier, further educated and financially stable. In addition to the donations, Encontro North Park will be donating 30% of their sales back to the organization!

This event gives you the opportunity to donate to the cause by bringing in new school supplies to donate as well as the chance to enjoy some of the best re-defined classic American craft beer and food. Located in North Park on the corner of University and 30th, Encontro can accommodate small and large groups and the patio is pet-friendly. What better way is there to celebrate going back to school than knowing that your contributions will directly impact a child’s education, giving them a chance at a bigger and brighter future?
