Societe Brewing Released FIVE New Beers!
If you haven’t heard, Societe Brewing Company just made a really exciting announcement! The brewing company local to Kearny Mesa is set to release a record amount of beer. Their long time offerings are without a doubt what draws fans to the San Diego brewery. Typically, they only debut new beers once to four times a year. However, this past weekend, they broke the record with the release of five new beers.
One of the newly released beers is debuted in an ultra-limited quality. However, it is the first time that Societe lovers can take a bottle home. The quintet of releases are currently available at Societe’s tasting room. The Fiddler, The Statesman, The Bachelorette with Cashmere, and The Damsel are available exclusively on draft. On the other hand, The Thief is on-sale in corked, caged, 500-millileter bottles. Currently, the only place to purchase Societe’s bottled beers are at the brewery’s tasting room. However, the draft beers will be distributed to notable beer-centric bars and restaurants throughout the city in the very near future. So, stay tuned!
THE BEER
THE FIDDLER

“If you’re gonna brew in San Diego, you gotta have an IPA!” says brewmaster Travis Smith.
The latest addition, The Fiddler, plays off lyrics from Alabama’s “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas.” It includes a trip of hops: Simcoe, Eureka, and Idaho 7. The result? A new and unique brew to Societe’s Out West family of hop-driven beers. Moreover, the hops used in The Fiddler are selected through their single-hop IPA program.
THE STATESMAN
Style: Pale Ale | ABV: 5.2% | Beer Family: Out West | Availability: Draft Only
The Statesman is a modern interpretation of an American Pale Ale. It is also Societe’s first foray into this venerable beer style. The beer brings forth distinctly West Coast hop profile. Additionally, this pale ale balances the hops with substantial yet subtle malt character.
THE BACHELOR with CASHMERE
Style: Single-Hop IPA | ABV: 6.5% | Beer Family: Out West | Availability: Draft Only
The Bachelor with Cashmere is the latest in Societe’s rotating line of IPAs. This beer exclusively utilizes Cashmere hops. Recently developed, Cashmere hops are en vogue cross between the Cascade and Norther Brewer cultivars. Without a doubt, it further accomplishes Societe’s exploration of the world’s hop varietals.
THE DAMSEL
Style: Belgian-style Table Beer | ABV: 3.7% | Beer Family: Old World | Availability: Draft Only
The Damsel plays on a New World take on the lowest alcohol variety of monastic European “abbey ales”. These beers are highly drinkable and light in body. However, these “abbey ales” are big on floral and spice character. In this case, Societe’s house Belgian yeast strain imparts it in The Damsel.
THE THIEF
Style: Ale w/Grenache Blanc | ABV: 6.3% | Beer Family: Feral | Availability: 500ml Bottles & Limited Draft at Societe Tasting Room
The Theif uses Grenache Blanc grapes. They are harvested from North County San Diego’s Vesper Vineyards. It lends a brilliant vinous essence to this effervescent, layered and award-winning specialty ale. Additionally, The Thief is available in bottles for the first time.
