Ska Brewing’s Mexican Logger Just Won an Award!
A HUGE congrats to Ska Brewing! The brewing company’s Mexican Logger ends its summer season with a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival -known commonly as GABF by craft beer enthusiasts- this past weekend. It received this award in the International Style Pilsner category at the 2016 competition. Last year, Ska’s Mexican-style lager rendition won a silver medal in the same category.

“We always knew Mexican Logger was a crowd pleaser, but to have it win a medal two years in a row at the Great American Beer Festival is super exciting for us,” said Kristen Muraro, Marketing Director at Ska.
The Mexican-style lager was originally brewed in 1999 and first canned in 2011. It’s been Ska’s top seller every summer season. The brewing company increased the production of the beer by 20% to keep up with the demand for Mexican Logger this year and expects another 20% increase in 2017. Unfortunately, to many’s dismay, this brew will not be available year-round.
Mexican Logger offers a balance of sweet malt and mild bite. It’s crafted with fresh grains and Saaz hops. This brew is refreshing, which is great for warmer summer days! At 5% ABV and 20 IBUs, it’s a highly sessionable beer that features a light to medium body and a clean, crisp finish.
This brew just wrapped up its 17th thirst quenching summer to make way for its winter season sibling – Euphoria Winter Pale Ale. But not to fear! Mexican Logger will be making a return next spring in all of Ska’s regions of distribution which spans most of Colorado, Southern California, Chicago, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
