Ska Brewing is located in Durango and is one of Colorado’s oldest craft brewers. They’ve been whipping up delicious beers for the past 21 years and counting including some amazing seasonal releases. Now that Fall is here, two of Ska’s iconic offerings Autumnal Mole Stout and Euphoria Winter Pale Ale, will both be returning for their seasonal release.
”This is my favorite time of year,” says Kristen Muraro, Marketing Director at Ska Brewing. “These seasonal offerings signal the beginning of fall and the cooler weather to come.”
The Autumnal Mole Stout is inspired by Ska’s southern Colorado location and is brewed with cocoa nibs, spices, and three varieties of chile peppers. The stout’s aroma hints at the Ancho, Guajillo and Hatch green chiles influenced by Mexican and New Mexican cuisine that’s found in the region. Cinnamon, cumin, cloves and the subtle heat from the chile creates a flavor complexity that is tied together by sweetness. This limited fall release contains 5.8% ABV and will be available in 22oz bombers and on tap from September until the last drop.
Euphoria Pale Ale is brewed in strict accordance with do-it-yourself methodology and it’s the beer of choice for epic powder days. Ska paired with Venture Snowboards for a DIY spirited project aptly named the Ska/Venture Venture. While Ska brewed Euphoria in the mighty San Juans, Venture constructed their high performance Euphoria snowboards. As a part of their joint venture, Venture will be releasing limited amounts of their Euphoria board with a graphic from Ska.
Euphoria is an apres ski stable in Colorado. It’s packaged in 12 oz cans and has a backbone of malt that provides enough alcohol to stay warm through the winter months. It’s filled with caramel sweetness and hints of chocolate and toast that is accompanied by a grapefruit hop aroma and flavor. This large hop profile is the result of a huge dry hop addition at the end of fermentation. Euphoria contains 6.2% ABV.
Mole’ Stout Release Party will be at Ska Brewing World HQ Thursday September 22nd at 5:00pm. Live music from Gary Gorence and Sutherland Farms will be roasting green chilies.
The official Euphoria Release Party will be at Ska Brewing World HQ Friday September 30th at 5:00pm. $3 pints of Euphoria and live music by the Great Contention.
