Ska Brewing Debuts New Mainline Brew & GABF Event Lineup
Ska Brewing believes that when life hands you hops, you make a fruity, juicy, hop bursting IIPA! So, when the Durango local found a surplus of Galaxy hops on their hands from an order, they did just that. It was destiny that the plethora of product allowed the brewery to create their latest year-round offering. Bad Hop Contract Double IPA is the newest brew and will make its debut at the Great American Beer Festival. There’s also a whole list of events where Ska fans can feast their taste buds on the newly released BHC DIPA & other ska suds during GABF week.
The Beer:
BHC DIPA is filled with tropical aromatics that will pull you in and fall in love with this brew. It’ll then give way to a sweet stone fruit flavor. The brew ends with an enjoyable bitterness. Additionally, as all of Ska’s fans know, the Durango brewery is known for their artwork. The design on this particular can is a skeleton hand signing off on the hops contract.
“In Ska Brewing’s legend and lore, which includes a variety of comic book-like stories, characters and artwork, the hand belongs to Pinstripe, a villain, the Chief of Conglomeration, who is to blame for anything bad that happens to the brewery,” said Westword‘s Jonathan Shikes.

Mod Project Tap Takeover | Wednesday, Oct 4
If you’re a Ska fan and LOVE their Mod Project small bach beers, this is the event for you! They’ll be taking over the taps at Tap XIV (1920 Blake Street) from 5:00 – 8:00 pm! You’ll be able to taste their latest brew, BHC DIPA, along with Pink Vapor Stew, Tart Mexican Logger, Sour Apple Gose, and their Russian Imperial Stout all in one place.
Ska Brew GABF Kickoff Happy Hour | Thursday, Oct 5
Ska Brewing will be kicking off GABF with a special Happy Hour at the Rialto Cafe (934 16th St. Denver, CO) from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. For all you Ska lovers, they’ll be pouring their brand new BHC DIPA, Modus Hoperandi, True Blonde and Pink Vapor Stew at this event!
Spirit Animal Party with Telluride Brewing Company | Thursday, Oct 5
Ska Brewing is joining forces with Telluride Brewing Company to host a Spirit Animal Party at Freshcraft (1530 Blake St) from 10:00 pm – 2:00 pm after the first night of GABF. The two Western Colorado breweries will be pouring Telluride & Ska’s collaboration beer, Hoppy Red Ale. Additionally, they’ll be pouring Ska’s BHC DIPA, Euphoria Pale Ale, and Ska’s Anniversary Beer.
Ska Brew Happy Hour | Friday, Oct 6
Ska is returning to Rialto Cafe (934 16th St, Denver, CO) for another pre-GABF Happy Hour from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.
