Savannah Craft Brew Fest Had a Huge Turnout!
Last year we attended the Savannah Craft Brew Fest and had a great time. This year we attended again and it was bigger and better than ever! This event was held this past weekend on Saturday, September 1st from 2pm-6pm at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center. The event took place mostly inside the Convention Center which we loved because Savannah is HOT. The weather this past weekend was 90 degrees, and having the festival inside with air conditioning really made a difference.
There were over 150 beers to try and the Festival Guide provided really made it easy for you to keep track of everything. This Guide included a map, beer facts, and tips and tricks to enjoy the festival. There was even a coupon for one free beer in Southbound Brewing Company’s taproom! However, the main reason this guide is so helpful is that it lists every brewery, the beers available to sample, and a description of each beer. Next to each beer is a small box to check off what you’ve sampled!
Favorite Beers
There were so many of our favorite local Georgia beers at the Savannah Craft Brew Fest. While it is delightful to see them, we wanted to branch out as well! Though we didn’t have the opportunity to try everything we wanted to, we were still able to discover some gems.
Allagash Brewing Co. | White is a Belgium Style Wheat Beer. White was one of the last beers we tried for the day. What stood out the most about this beer was the flavor. The spice from the coriander and orange peel it is brewed with made us keep on sipping. We would recommend this beer to anyone new to the craft beer world.
Bold Rock Hard Cider | IPA is a very enjoyable hopped cider. Sometimes ciders can be too sweet, but this wasn’t the case. We’ve tried other ciders from Bold Rock at another beer festival before but this was the first time we’ve seen their IPA cider. It is the perfect combination of crisp apples and hops.
D9 Brewing Co. | At first glance of the description, Hakuna Matata seems very intimidating. It is brewed with hops from the US, UK, Germany, Slovenia, and New Zealand. It was quite the surprise as it wasn’t too bitter and had great flavor.
Favorite Vendors
Hops and Nuts | Hops and Nuts makes every beer lovers favorite snacks: beer and pretzels. Their twist is that they craft these snacks perfectly to go with your favorite craft beers, wines, or cocktails. We tried a couple different ones but our favorite was the Lager and Lime Peanuts, crafted to go with Lagers, Pinot Grigio, or Margaritas! Everyone seemed to love these snacks – as soon as people made their purchase they opened their bags and started snacking. To check out their products you can visit their website HERE.
Chazito’s Latin Cuisine Food Truck | Voted best Food Truck in Savannah, Chazito’s Latin Cuisine can almost always be seen at any big event. Their food is inspired by the owner’s Puerto Rican culture. Some of their food truck options include Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, and Yuca fries. Each entrée comes with a side and cost about $12, but could easily feed two people. We got a Cuban sandwich with sweet plantains, and it really hit the spot.

One of our favorite moments of the Savannah Craft Brew Fest was being able to sit outside with the sight of the Savannah River. There’s nothing better than enjoying a beer with a view.
Overall, this is an awesome event that seems to be growing and growing every year. From start to finish, the place was full of craft beer lovers. We can’t wait to go back again next year!
