Too Old, Too Slow, Still Here.
On January 31st, just in time for Superbowl LIII, Samuel Adams released their newest creation: Too Old, Too Slow, Still Here. Does that saying sound familiar? Well, if you’re a New England Patriots fan it definitely should.
The Name
This tongue-in-cheek nod to Tom Brady, Patriots Quarterback and NFL legend, and the Patriots’ 2018-2019 season was inspired by playful banter, and their famous “we’re still here” chant. Chris Hogan, Patriots’ receiver, and Brady are known to joke, with Brady saying,
“I’m too old, you’re too slow.”
Yep, just like Brady dropped the mic, Samuel Adams is dropping a hoppy(ish) bomb.

Let’s see if Brady breaks his allegedly super-strict TB12 diet to give this one a try with the rest of his team after the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Jim Koch, Brewer and Founder of Samual Adams, said in a press release,
“We’re behind the New England Patriots 100% as they head to the big game. The best way that we could think to honor the team was to brew a beer for fans that can’t make it to Atlanta and a New England style Double IPA with as much spirit as the players felt like the perfect beer. We haven’t doubted them all season and can’t wait to watch them on Sunday with a beer in hand that honors their hard work.”
Too Old, Too Slow, Still Here comes in at a reasonable 7.8% ABV and contains notes of candied peach and pineapple. It will only be available in the Boston Brewery & Tap Room until the kegs kick.
