Chai Milk Stout Candy Cane Brownies

Candy Canes are a staple this time of year and we can’t think of anything that pairs better with them than chocolate! Adding some beer into the mix really takes things to a magical new level. These brownies will definitely be the talk of any Holiday event that you attend!
The Beer
Chai Milk Stout was awarded a silver medal at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival in the Herb and Spice Beer category. It is brewed with a secret family recipe blend of chai spices made in-house at Yak & Yeti Restaurants. This chocolate and roast-forward stout is bursting with fresh chai tea aroma and flavor. Ingredients
- 1 12 oz can Spice Trade Chai Milk Stout Beer
- 8 ounces butter
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
- 2 bars Ghirardelli Midnight Reverie Chocolate
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup Flower
- .25 tsp baking powder
- .25 tsp Sea Salt
- 6 ounces Ghirardelli Bittersweet 60% Cacao Chocolate Chips
- 2 Candy Canes (Crushed)

- Preheat oven to 350F. Line 8’’ square baking sheet with parchment paper. Grease with melted butter and dust with cocoa powder
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line 8’’ square baking sheet with parchment paper. Grease with melted butter and dust with cocoa powder.
- Pour Chai Milk Stout into medium saucepan, stir and cook on medium heat until reduced by half. Remove from heat, pour into a mixing bowl and allow to cool slightly.
- Cut butter into small chunks. Add butter and cocoa powder into beer concentrate. Mix until combined.
- Break chocolate bars into small chunks and mix into warm mixture until melted Whisk in sugar, vanilla, and eggs until combined.
- In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly add to liquid mixture, whisking constantly until combined.
- Add chocolate chips and stir.
- Pour brownie mix into baking sheet, tap on countertop to remove air bubbles.
- Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of brownies comes out clean.
- Sprinkle with crushed candy canes right when brownies come out of the oven, allow to cool before enjoying!
