Beer Soaked Watermelon
With summer about to be in full swing, we wanted to share this refreshing recipe with you. It will certainly be one of your go to recipes for all your summer BBQ’s. What could be better than watermelon on a hot summer day? Soaking your watermelon in beer, of course! This beer soaked watermelon recipe is super easy to make, and guaranteed to be the talk of your next summer event!
The Beer
New Belgium Brewing releases their Juicy Watermelon Lime Ale during summer, and it’s the PERFECT beer for this recipe. The beer features a mild sweetness, light sour, with minimal bitterness. The beer itself is super refreshing on a hot summer day, therefore soaking your watermelon in this beer is truly a refreshing treat!

- 1 pound cubed watermelon
- 12 oz New Belgium Juicy Watermelon
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
Ingredients

- Place cubed watermelon in a large bowl
- Pour in the beer, enough to fully submerge all of the watermelon pieces
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or longer if needed, then drain beer out.
- Skewer each cube of watermelon or multiple cubes together with a toothpick or longer skewer. Place on a large serving platter.
- Sprinkle with mint and serve chilled
Optional: Also add 2 oz of crumbled Cotija cheese.
