We absolutely love pumpkin pie so naturally we found a way to infuse beer into a pumpkin pie recipe for Fall! The best part is that since we replaced the condensed milk with beer, it leaves out the dairy component of the pie for all those who are lactose intolerant! In order to achieve the perfect beer pumpkin pie, we needed to find the perfect pumpkin beer. We decided to use Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale because of its amazing flavor profile that comes from the unique way it is made. Rogue Brewing Company has its own farm called Rogue Farms in Independence, Oregon. They grow pumpkins on their farm, fresh pick them, load them into their truck, drive it immediately 77 miles to their brewery in Newport, Oregon, quickly roast them and pitch them into the brew kettle. Talk about using FRESH ingredients!
We decided to pair the beer pumpkin pie with a Rogue Brewing classic and award winning beer Hazelnut Brown Nector! The nutty notes of the beer really help elevate the flavor of the pie to another level! Rogue also shared a fun tip with us! If you mix (1/2 and 1/2) the Pumpkin Patch Ale with the Hazelnut Brown Nectar you get what they call “Nut Patch”. Try it you will absolutely love it!
