The chicken is ready when it is easily shred with a fork. Drain most of the liquid, but not all as you need some to help keep it moist. Next, shred the chicken in the slow cooker, and toss with the remaining juice. Finally, remove the chicken with a slotted spoon and serve warm. The shredded chicken can be stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to 5 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
