October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we created this Pink Gin Press Cocktail as a friendly reminder to make sure you are getting checked regularly. According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. Early detection includes doing monthly breast self-exams and scheduling regular clinical breast exams and mammograms. Equipment

Stir Spoon
Mixing Glass or Cocktail Shaker
Strainer
2 Drink Glasses

Materials

1 oz. Gin We used Flippin Bird Pink Gin
1 oz. Lime Juice
8 oz. Can of Sprite Zero
1/2 oz. Cranberry Juice Optional
Ice

Instructions

Add Ice to the Cocktail Shaker or Mixing Glass.
Combine the gin, lime juice and Sprite Zero.
Stir to mix.
Stir in 1/2 oz. of Cranberry Juice (Optional).

Notes

We made both options for this drink. One with the cranberry juice added and one without. The choice is purely optional, but if you want the drink to be pink in color, add the cranberry.
