Painkiller Cocktail Recipe
BACKGROUND OF A PAINKILLER
If you have ever been to a Tiki Bar chances are you have seen a Painkiller on the menu. This famous rum cocktail is trademarked by Pusser’s Rum as their signature drink. The original Painkiller was created in the 1970s by Daphne Henderson at the Soggy Dollar Bar at White Bay on the island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. This cocktail is traditionally a blend of orange juice, pineapple juice, rum, and creme of coconut.
FALLING IN LOVE WITH PAIN
We fell in love with this cocktail when we experienced it at our favorite Tiki Bar in Decatur, GA…The S.O.S Tiki Bar. When the lockdowns happened due to Coronavirus, we found ourselves missing our new favorite cocktail. So, with plenty of time on our hands, we decided to play around and create a recipe for ourselves to enjoy at home. We have decided to share the fruits of our labor with y’all and we hope you enjoy it!
