Melvin Brewing Gears Up for GABF with a Menu of Events!

Wyoming local, Melvin Brewing, is already gearing up for another fun filled week at Great American Beer Festival this year! They have a history of outdoing themselves when it comes to GABF. Needless to say, they plan on continuing that trend this year. The team at Melvin Brewing already came up with a menu of events over the course of the week. It’ll include an event with WWE Hacksaw Jim Duggan and co-hosting the All-Star IPA Throwdown.

Starter – Melvin Monday

On Monday, Oct 2nd, Melvin Brewing is heading back to Backcountry Pizza in Boulder! Starting at 6 pm, the Wyoming local will be taking guests on an adventure through their brewing techniques. Melvin and Backcountry have always had a close partnership, since the pizzeria was the first established beer hub in Boulder to offer the brewing company’s beers on tap!

Appetizer – Great American Beer Festival

From Thursday, Oct 5th through Saturday, Oct 6th, kick off your GABF sessions with some delicious beers from Melvin! How may you find their award winning beers? By looking for WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan! He’ll be marching all over the Melvin Brewing bus during the session. Melvin will also be firing off tee-shirts into the crowd, so follow the booms to their booth. If that’s not enough, look up for their crane with a person hanging from it. That’s one that you surely won’t miss that’ll guide you Melvin’s watering hole at GABF. Your mind will definitely be blown with the 10 beers they’ll be offering at the sessions.

If you’re an IPA lover, this is the event for you! For a second year in a row, Mevin Brewing will be hosting The All-Star IPA Throwdown alongside Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Last year, media have called this one of North America’s best showcases of IPAs under one roof! So, if you’re in town Wednesday, Oct 4th, stop by after 9:30 pm to sample some of the country’s best IPAs.

Second Plate – Beer Hall Brawl

In conjunction with Bierstadt Lagerhaus & WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Melvin will be hosting a Beer Hall Brawl on Thursday, Oct 5th from 10pm-midnight! Some may call wresting a fetish, but to the Wyoming local, they know it as beer drinking entertainment. Help Melvin bring the ruckus from Wyoming to Colorado over a few IPAs! $25 will get guests their first beer, a customized collector’s edition mug, and an up-close vie of Hacksaw Jim Duggan using his signature 2×4! Entree – Enter the House of Flying Barrels Beer

For this event, Melvin Brewing joined forces with their friends at Avery Brewing, Four Noses Brewing and Firestone Walker to raise cold hard cash and awareness for Water for People and The Chill Foundation. Not only can you party with the Melvin crew starting at 9pm Friday, October 6th, you’ll be drinking for a cause. There’ll be a free shuttle running from the convention center to the House of Flying Barrels and back every 20 mins.

If you’re asking yourself how a NGO partnership fits into the world’s largest beer pyramid during GABF? Jeremy Tofte, Melvin’s cofounder and Field Hoperative, puts it best:

“water comes from the mountains where we like to snowboard, the snow runoff travels downhill and becomes drinking water. As brewers, we use that water to brew beer, and then we go snowboarding. Because we believe deeply in brewing and snowboarding which both depend on water and snow we want to give back to people who don’t have access to clean drinking water.”

The Chill Foundation is a youth development program that partners with social service agencies, mental health agencies, foster care programs, juvenile justice programs, and schools to teach life skills and increase self-esteem. Each six-week program uses board sports to help guide youth through life’s challenges So, if you are looking to get weird, drink cold cans of Melvin beer, build the World’s largest beer can pyramid and give back, then this is the event for you. The first shuttle bus will leave GABF at 8:45 and the last at 10:15.
