Koozie Showdown
This Koozie Showdown was inspired by the many koozies floating around my home. If you’re a beer lover chances are that you too have a surplus of koozies. But which one is the best? We decided to test three different koozies to determine which one will reign supreme.
The Koozies
The first contender is a free Atlanta Beer Bus promotional koozie. You probably already have something similar to this. Personally, We have a drawer full of these just because any time someone is handing them out we will grab one. We will usually use these koozies while drinking in a house setting.
The second contender is the Ozark Trail Can Coozie found in the Walmart camping section for just under $7. This koozie is vacuum insulated stainless steel and comes in several colors. You unscrew the top, insert the can, then screw the top back on. This type of koozie is ideal for outdoor use.
The last contender is the Yeti Rambler Colster. This is the most expensive of the options, priced at $25, but this is a brand extremely well known for their coolers and essentially keeping things cold. This koozie is similar to the Ozark Trail one as they both are vacuum insulated stainless steel. The color selection for the Yeti koozies is slightly larger. Again, this type of koozie is ideal for outdoor use.
The Experiment
To give the experiment a fair chance we decided to test the temperatures of the beers in the evening instead of the uncomfortably hot Georgia summer afternoon. We used 4 cans of beer, one for each koozie, and then one without a koozie at all.
We recorded the temperature of the beer as soon as it was taken out of the fridge. After that, we placed all 4 cans on my porch at 6:00 PM and took the temperature of each beer after 5, 15, 30, 45, 60, and 120 minutes. While realistically we know you probably wouldn’t drink a beer that’s been opened for 30-120 minutes but we figured why not test it.

The Results
Conclusion
From the results, we can make a few conclusions. First of all, having any kind of koozie on a can is better than having nothing. Secondly, the Ozark Trails koozie which cost $7 works just as well as Yeti that cost $25. But, overall, your koozie choice is completely up to you!
