The holidays are upon us once again. San Diego’s holiday beer events allow you to kill two birds with one stone. Holiday shop and try the newest barrel aged stouts. Create a Christmas wreath and sip on a cold one. Take the kids to see Santa and avoid long lines with a beer in hand. Celebrate New Years and avoid the club scene. Essentially, San Diego brewers want you to get things done while enjoying a beer. These events were put together to support small businesses and allow you to enjoy checking items off your holiday checklist instead of stressing out. Blizzard by the Beach – Stone Brewing – Friday, December 7- Sunday, December 9
The city of Oceanside isn’t known for frosty winters, and they don’t get snow very often. But Stone Brewing is celebrating the season by “winterizing” their gardens and pouring barrel-aged, vintage and special creations all weekend long. A few beers you can find on tap include Bitter Chocolate Oakmeal Bourbon Barrel Stout, Fyodor – Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout w/Espresso aged in Bourbon Barrels, and Stone Smoked Porter. You can also warm up next to the fire with a S’more and Stout pairing. Stone will provide the S’mores kit with enough so you can roast and build two s’mores to pair with two 5oz tasters. S’more kits will be available for $10 each on a first come, first served basis. Stone is ringing in the holidays the right way.
Seize. Sip. Make a Wreath – Second Chance Beer Co. – Sunday, December 9
There’s no better way to personalize your wreath than by making it yourself at Second Chances’ Carmel Mountain location. Tickets include all materials, tools, make & care instruction, and your very own take-home hand-made wreath! Wreaths will be made with all fresh ingredients and died elements. Includes a House Pint of your choice. Bring the whole family to join in the fun, under 21 is welcome and can enjoy their choice of non-alcoholic beverage. $55/per person.
Santa! – Benchmark Brewing Co. – Sunday, December 9

Bring the whole family and get into the holiday spirit by sculpting your very own holiday ornaments with I Sculpt U. These are perfect for hanging on your tree or giving as a stocking stuffer for someone special! Tickets are $20 per person and will include enough materials to sculpt 2 ornaments of your choice. Space is limited to the first 20 people who sign up. This event will also feature a delicious cookie and beer pairing with Caked Bakery!
Christmas Succulent Workshop – Pariah Brewing Co. – Wednesday, December 12
Petite Petals will be at Pariah Brewing Co. bringing the Christmas spirit with Christmas succulents. Choose between either a glass ornament or wooden box to decorate. Makes a perfect holiday gift or activity! Price includes all materials and 1 full pour of beer.
Shop + Hops – Alta Brewing – Friday, December 14
Alta Brewing is helping host the first annual San Diego Made Shop + Hops Holiday Market in Barrio Logan. There is a $5 entry fee. Children under 10 are free. Screen printed, reusable tote bags will be sold at the event.
This awesome beer tasting and shopping night market will feature:

Succulent Wreath Workshop – Second Chance Beer Co. – Saturday, December 15
A succulent wreath is the definition of a California Christmas. Celebrate the season with a Rain to Roots do-it-yourself succulent wreath making workshop. They will teach you step-by-step how to create a wreath using organic grapevine wreaths filled with moss and hand-selected, San Diego-grown succulents creating a one-of-a-kind arrangement that will last for months or even years to come. Each ticket includes your first pint, all plants, and materials needed to make and take your creation home, a live demonstration, and instruction by succulent designer, Alyssa Hartwick.
Societe Holiday Market – Societe Brewing Co. – Saturday, December 15
Societe is supporting small businesses and charities this Holiday season. This year they’re clearing out their parking lot to have an unprecedented number of local vendors on-site for a Holiday Market. If you purchase any assorted goods, Societe will take a dollar off every full pour. Additionally, they’ll have some of their charity partners out to connect with shoppers and provide info on the good you can do in your community. Santa is stopping by from 2-4pm to listen to your Christmas wishlist. It should be a fun opportunity to tie a bow on your holiday shopping efforts or just enjoy a day of treating yourself!
Ugly Christmas Sweater Party – Pacific Islander Beer Co. – Saturday, December 15
Pacific Islander is hosting a FREE Christmas party! Their annual Christmas party includes an ugly sweater theme and free dinner. We’re talking a full turkey, stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, and dinner rolls! Stop by the brewery tasting room to pick up your tickets (4 per person). There will also be music, caroling and snacks.
Holiday Mug Painting Class – Kilowatt Brewing – Sunday, December 16
Head over to Kilowatt’s OB location for a holiday mug painting class with local artist, Rachel Redmond. Design and paint your own 20-ounce high-quality glass mug or paint one for a holiday gift! The class includes painting demonstration, instruction on glass painting techniques, glass mug, and painting supplies.
Ugly Christmas Sweater Party – Pariah Brewing Co. – Thursday, December 20
Head over to Pariah on Thursday, December 20th from 4-9pm in your ugly sweater and receive full pours for the price of a half pour! This is a great holiday deal and a great reason to dust off your ugly Christmas sweater.
Craft Beer New Year – Stone Brewing Escondido – Monday, December 31
Stone Brewing invites you to ring in the New Year with them at their World Bistro & Gardens, Escondido location. Celebrate another year of craft beer with extended hours and an exclusive chef’s menu in addition to their regular menu! Enjoy dinner, libations and live music before counting down to midnight. Kilowatt is having an early ball drop celebration which makes it the perfect place to start your party before heading over to a friend’s for the final countdown. Since Kilowatt closes at 10 pm, they will have their 2nd Annual Ball Drop at 9 pm in celebration of the East Coast New Year!
2nd Annual New Year’s Eve Hop Drop – Alesmith Brewing Co. – Monday, December 31

NPBC will also serve their signature Brew-tails, including Glitter Guava-Pom Mimosas, Bloody Covingtons, and a michelada!
