Your Guide to SDBW 2017 Events in Kearny Mesa & Clairemont
San Diego Brewers Guild‘s highly anticipated SDBW 2017 lasts from Friday, November 3rd and runs through Sunday, November 12th. During this week, local breweries showcase various beers through events, new releases, and special pairings. Without further ado, below is a roundup of SDBW 2017 Events around Kearny Mesa and Clairemont Mesa!
Friday, November 3rd
Flower Sour Beer Release (6 Varieties) at Kilowatt Brewing | Noon – 10:30 PM
Kilowatt Brewing is kicking off #SDBW17 with their Summer of Love influenced Flower Sour beer releases at their Kearny Mesa location. They will be playing rare music from the 60’s & lighting up the tasting room with psychedelic lights. The release includes S3 Rose Sour, S3 Elder Flower Sour, S3 Violet Sour, S3 Lavender Sour, S3 Hibiscus, and S3 Orchid. The Groovy Greek Food Truck will also be onsite serving up food from 5-9 PM. Feral Friday at Societe Brewing | NOON – 10:00 PM

Saturday, November 4th
Bourbon & Wine: Barrel Aged Releases at Kilowatt Brewing | NOON – 10:30 PM
Kilowatt will be releasing a few special barrel aged beers during #SDBW17! This includes their new Doubler, a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with coffee and cocoa nibs, an Imperial Wit aged in a Chardonnay barrel, and a Chocolate Macadamia Stout aged in a red wine barrel. Tuesday, November 7th
Pints for Prostates at Societe Brewing Company | Noon – 9:00 PM
Pints for Prostates is Societe’s November Charity Partner for their #SocieteGivesBack campaign. The Pints for Prostates campaign uses the universal language of beer to spread an important health message. Beer writer and prostate cancer survivor Rick Lyke founded the campaign in 2008. The campaign raises awareness about the importance of regular health screenings and early detection by making appearances at beer events, social networking, and pro-bono advertising. Funds generated by the group go toward fighting prostate cancer and assisting men with the disease. Additionally, Pints for Prostates will be at Societe every Tuesday in November. Wednesday, November 8th
Vienne Bottle Release at Council Brewing | 2:00 – 9:00 PM
Vienne is a very special beer to Council Brewing. Their Batch 1 sold out very quickly and the staff has long awaited Batch 2… Now, it’s finally here! Council chose to release Vienne during San Diego Beer Week to compliment the fall season and the symbiotic flavors, appearance, and aromas this beer shares with this wonderful time of year. Limbo Lager Beer Release at Circle 9 Brewing | 3:00 – 9:00 PM

Friday, November 10th
Feral Friday at Societe Brewing Company | Noon – 1o:oo PM

Beer & Donut Pairing with Nomad Donuts at Council Brewing | 5:00 – 8:00 PM
Council Brewing is having a pairing of epic proportions that’s only fitting for San Diego Beer Week. Featured beers from Head Brewer Liz Chism include:

Coffee IPA Release Featuring Bird Rock Coffee Roasters at Kilowatt Brewing | 3:00 – 10:00 PM
Kilowatt Brewing will be tapping a limited release edition of their Coconut Chai Porter with Coffee. This beer is brewed with coffee roasted from their friends at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. Staff Kegs & Veterans Day at Council Brewing Company | 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Council Brewing’s Employee R & D Program is back for beer week. This time, their staff has some very inventive and delicious specialties to share with you. Each Council Crew Member hand the opportunity to choose from three base beers, which have been aging for several months in their Magic Factory foeders. Coffee Beers Flight Featuring 6 Local Roasters at Kilowatt Brewing | Noon – 10:30 PM
Kilowatt invites you to join them for a special tapping of 6 different coffee beers. Each beer is brewed with coffee from a local San Diego Coffee Roaster including Industrial Grind Coffee, Swell Coffee Co. Mission Beach, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, Dark Horse Coffee Roasters, OBbeans, and the Secret Coffee Company. The lineup is as follows: Coffee Chai Porter, Coffee Belt Notcher Brown Ale, Coffee Bourbon Vanilla Oak Amber, Coffee Belgian Dubbel, Coffee IPA, and Coffee Grand Entrance Stout. The beer week releases featuring local coffee will be paired with a donut. The local coffee roasters include: Swell, Bird Rock, Industrial Grind, and Dark Horse. Executive Pastry Chef Kristianna Zabala never holds back in her creative and inspiring pairings, baking and pairing each donut with one of the unique, small batch coffee beers.
