So, whether you’re in Denver for GABF or just on a weekend getaway, try out this beer tour to dip your toes in the Lower Downtown Denver craft beer scene!
STOP ONE: Prost Brewing Company
Address: 2540 19th St.
We recommend trying: Prost Weissbier & Prost Keller Pils
Why it made the list: What better way to cheers to #GABF2017 than enjoying a cold brew at Prost Brewing Company? The name speaks for itself! This brewing company is without a doubt a local favorite and puts a Colorado twist on German classics. To this day, they still use 100% German products and ingredients to brew their beers. It doesn’t get more authentic than that! Unless, of course, you go to Germany for a beer! Prost is a GABF Award-winning brewery that you won’t want to miss while you’re there.

STOP TWO: Denver Beer Co/Barrel Room at Denver Beer Co
Address: 1695 Platte St.
We’d like to try: Sun Drenched & Graham Cracker Porter
Why it made the list: Denver Beer Co has one of the most picturesque patios to enjoy a cold brew on, especially on those sunny Colorado days. They designed their patio to be a place where new and old friends can share a table and pint outdoors. We’re definitely hoping for great weather during our trip out, just so we can spend some time enjoying some of Denver’s best while soaking in the sun. Denver Beer Co. has a total of four tap rooms and a barrel room, all of which are unique in their own way. They’ve come a long way since their days of brewing in the garage, and there’s just so much for them to look forward to!

STOP THREE: Wynkoop Brewing Company
Address: 1634 18th St.
We’d like to try: Mile High & Rail Yard
Why it made the list: Founded in 1988, Wynkoop saw the days before LoDo got their ballpark. The inspiration came from four men who just wanted to make really good beer – and they did it! Wynkoop has seen it all and has grown with LoDo, all while brewing delicious beers! Now, the company also offers food options for guests to enjoy while sipping on the brews. Be sure to stop by one of Denver’s oldest breweries while you’re there, there’s even the opportunity to take a tour if that’s of interest to you!

We’d like to try: Local Knowledge & Samurai
Why it made the list: We actually had the chance to stop by Great Divide while we were in town for last year’s GABF and we can’t wait to go back! Not only are they a Denver staple, but they’ve won several awards at GABF. While you’re at their tasting room, check out all the awards they’ve won. They’re all proudly displayed on their walls. As if their beers aren’t delicious enough, they’ve added a few more beers to their tap list. It just leaves more for us to try when we head back to Denver.
