With over 30 breweries already present, Colorado Springs has a bustling beer scene that continues to grow by the week. Located only 62 miles from Denver, right by Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs is worth the visit. STOP ONE: Smiling Toad Brewery

We recommend: IPA Freely, White Chocolate Blonde, Ella Lavender
Why it made the list: Smiling Toad is the place for hop heads! With six (sometimes more) IPAs being offered at one time, they really nail it when it comes to playing with different hop styles and characteristics. They do not offer food, but they do a community style potluck and offer local food trucks. The Toad feels like home right when you walk in and you are guaranteed to run into someone you know.

STOP TWO: Iron Bird Brewing Company

We recommend trying: Dead Stick Double IPA, Black Auger Stout, Barnstormer American Red
Why it made the list: Located downtown, Iron Bird provides a large taproom and patio as well as a kitchen. They offer rotating seasonal beers, such as The DENNIS System India Brown Ale and the Pin Setter California Common as well as guest taps for other local breweries. They are one of the hoppier breweries in town and have won medals for their Propaganda IPA and Deadstick IIPA, both of which took home medals at the All Colorado Beer Fest two years running. If you love pizza and yummy IPAs this one is definitely worth checking out!
STOP THREE: Brass Brewing Company

We recommend trying: Overwatch Blonde Stout, Dogger IPA, Battle Buddy Brown
Why it made the list: Brass is one of the newer breweries in the Downtown region of Colorado Springs. Veteran owned, Brass focuses on giving back to charities that support Veterans as well as current Military personnel. With 12 taps, Brass offers a variety of beer styles and a warm, inviting atmosphere for all. They do not have a kitchen, but you are welcome to order food in or bring in outside food – inside tip: El Taco Rey is right next door, one of Colorado Springs best family-run Mexican restaurant. Local food trucks are present on Sunday.

STOP FOUR: Cerberus Brewing Company

Why it made the list: Cerberus is known not only for their tasty craft beers but also an award-winning kitchen. Opened in 2016, they continue to win award after award for both. They also offer a huge outdoor patio area featuring tables and Adirondack chairs. Cerberus is the perfect venue for a nice pint and unique food on a beautiful day.

Why it made the list: Opened in 2014, Storybook is one of the smaller breweries on our list, but the most eclectic. Like the name, the interior reflects a fun, fairy-tale like atmosphere, with plenty of board games and unique beers. They offer local food trucks and you can even sit in the brewhouse and enjoy your pint!
