Bitter Brothers, White Labs, and Stone Collaboration 8/16

One of our favorite things about the craft beer industry is the collaboration between breweries. We are excited to tell you about a very limited-edition collaboration beer masterminded by Bitter Brothers Brewing Company’s John Hunter & Bill Warnke, White Labs’ Joey Kurowski and Stone Brewing Liberty Station’s brewing manager Kris Ketchum. Brewed especially for the screening of The Jerk at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens Liberty Station’s Movie Nights on Tuesday, August 16th, the brewers found literal inspiration in the film’s title, pulling flavors and spices commonly associated with jerk chicken. When deciding on what to brew for the occasion, the three quickly agreed on a saison, as the highly carbonated pale ale is naturally spicy and lends itself well to adjuncts. The spicy saison, cheekily named “Jerkémon Go,” (an ode to both the jerk flavor, the mango and the addictive new app) was brewed at Stone Liberty Station at the end of July and stars all-spice, habanero, ginger, lemongrass and mango. This fresh and zesty saison is truly unique, only available on tap the night of the screening, from 8:30 p.m.

Notably, Bitter Brothers recently expanded production with the addition of three new 30 BBL fermenters, allowing them to add to their already existing beer lineup and further their reach throughout the state (they’re distributed via Stone Distributing). A recent pop-up ‘Family Dinner’ at Bitter Brothers’ Bay Ho tasting room, the first of many to come, showcased co-owners Bill Warnke and Monica Andresen’s extensive culinary background and Bitter Brothers’ family of beers’ aptitude to pair well with food. Open for just under year, it was an honor for Bitter Brothers’ team to get to work with greats like White Labs and Stone Brewing on a collaboration beer.
