Best Spots in San Diego for Football and Craft Beer!
Football is back! Now that fantasy drafts are completed and lineups are ready, we thought it would be a great idea to share with you our bar “draft” picks. San Diego is a big place, so here are a few spots (in no particular order) that offer food options, plenty of TV’s to watch the games, and of course, serve up delicious craft beer!
La Jolla Tap and Grill – Located in La Jolla, La Jolla Tap and Grill boasts a laid back atmosphere, comfy seating and 25 beers on tap. If you are looking for a place to chill and watch games all day, then this is the spot for you. Food options range and include: tacos, burgers, flatbreads, ahi poke and more. There are plenty of options to fit your mood and plenty of beer to choose from.
Miller’s Field – Perfect for watching games and getting rowdy with fellow fans. This popular spot in Pacific Beach occupies two levels and contains more TVs than you can count. There are 12 beers on tap, 9 canned beers to choose from and plenty of seating for you and your friends! Make sure to check out the specials available specifically for football season!
Wonderland Ocean Pub – Looking for a spot to drink, eat, watch football games and catch a spectacular beach sunset? Wonderland Ocean Pub in Ocean Beach certainly gives you that opportunity. This dual section sports pub has everything a fan could want offering: 30 beers on tap, 10 bottled beers, a solid food menu with many options, and of course, an award winning view showcasing the OB Pier and Pacific Ocean. If you’re looking for a spot to watch the game and catch a sunset, this is the place for you!
Dirty Birds Bar and Grill – This small, relaxed atmosphere is a Pacific Beach gem. This is a great place to watch games and chow down on their famous wings. We love exploring the variety of craft beer options to choose from, as well as the multitude of wing flavors you probably never knew existed. If you are a fan of great wings and craft beer, you really cannot go wrong picking this spot to watch a game or two!

Slater’s 50/50 – If you love burgers and craft beer, Slater’s 50/50 is your spot. With a location in Point Loma/Liberty Station and others throughout Southern California, Slater’s 50/50 is a “must try” spot known for the their half ground bacon, half ground beef burgers. While the burgers may be fantastic… make sure you do not forget about the beer! Slater’s 50/50 boasts 111 beers on tap (yes, you read that right), and is a great place to try craft beers from all over the country. Not to mention there are plenty of TVs to watch your favorite team.
The Brew Project – This new favorite spot of ours in Hillcrest demonstrates their love of San Diego craft beer by only allowing beer from breweries located within San Diego County. They have 28 beer taps that change almost weekly and have plenty of TVs for any fan to enjoy a game. There is also a delicious food menu and outdoor patio (with TVs), that make this is a fun place to be during football season.
End Zone Sports Bar & Grill – Named in honor of our favorite sport (football of course) and located in North Park, End Zone Sports Bar & Grill is a great spot to bring a group of friends to watch the game. You can order pitchers of craft beer or go for a beer flight if you cannot pick just one! They also offer big plates of food to help soak up all that refreshing beer! Be sure to check them out if you are in the area!
Barleymash – Looking for a place to enjoy games in Downtown San Diego? Barleymash is the go-to spot for viewing sports, drinking beer, eating delicious food and a great atmosphere! There are 30 beers on tap, an amazing food menu from Head Chef Kevin Templeton, and TVs in every direction to catch the game! If we are in Downtown San Diego, this is most likely where you will find us on game day.
Each of these places are unique and have different atmospheres. If you are a craft beer and football lover, you really cannot go wrong with any of these local hotspots.
