Atlanta Summer Beer Fest Kicked Off Summer in Style!
Atlanta Beer Festivals puts on the Atlanta Summer Beer Fest every year in Atlanta, GA. Since we recently moved to Atlanta, we were excited to go to our first beer festival and this event definitely set the bar high! The event was held this past Saturday, June 16th from 4pm-8pm at the Historic Fourth Ward Park. One thing that really set this festival apart from others we have experienced in the past… no pour limits. If you found a beer you really enjoyed, you were welcome to have a slightly larger pour while enjoying the different music options they had.
Favorite Beers
Honestly, it was hard to pick our favorites at this beer festival. All of the breweries in attendance brought their “A” Game! We were really impressed with the selection and quality of the beers we had throughout the event. Out of all of the beer festivals we have attended so far, this one ranks high on our list for best selection.
Dry County | Juice IPA & Neon Neon were both super refreshing on a warm summer day! Juice IPA literally tasted as the name would suggest, like juice. Neon Neon is a mildly tart sour that anyone could enjoy! These two beers are ones we will be reaching for again over the summer months ahead! As an added bonus, they also brought their award-winning Old 41 stout with them and was surprisingly drinkable for a summer day!
Cherry Street | Groovy Child Guava Creme is probably one of the best guava beers we have had to date! You taste just the right amount of guava out of this beer, which for a warm summer day was absolute perfection! You could tell this was a fan favorite, because we ran into quite a few people enjoying full pours of this!
Southern Sky | Killjoy Kolsch was one of the first beers we tried and it left a lasting impression. There is nothing quite like enjoying a solid Kolsch on a warm summer day, and this was no exception! We really enjoyed all of the beers they were pouring, but this one was our favorite of the three!
Favorite Vendors
Montford Misfits | Montford Misfits creates unique custom artwork featuring craft beer maps! They had some great options that would match any home decor from wood to aluminum to acrylic! They have an entire map of the United States, and are slowly adding to their individual states lineup. We loved them so much, we ended up taking one home for our beer plaque wall we are building! Knotty Barrel Pretzels | There is nothing better than salty delicious pretzels when you are enjoying multiple beers. The Knotty Barrel Pretzels are quickly becoming our favorite go to pretzels so we were excited to see them serving up their delicious pretzels at this event. We quickly grabbed a bag of our favorite flavor Zesty Italian and were back on our way to enjoy some more beers. Thanks for satisfying our craving guys! Cayman Jack | They were one of the sponsors of this great event! They set up a really cool booth for you to walk into and try their canned cocktails. Their Margarita cocktail in a can was something that instantly had us reminiscing about being at the beach! It is made with natural key limes and agave. Favorite Moments
Our favorite thing about this event was seeing groups of people enjoying hanging out with each other. The weather ended up being perfect, the lines were not crazy long, and there was plenty of options for people to enjoy regardless of their preferences. They even had wine, cider, and some mimosas for those accompanying someone who loved beer. Also, if you got too hot, they had a giant air-conditioned tent with music playing and beer flowing.
