William’s Pick – Rogue Marionberry Sour
The beer I will be drinking this 4th of July is the Rogue Marionberry Sour. This red-hued sour has notes of blackberry and raspberry, two things I really enjoy. Rogue used ingredients in this beer that they grew on their own farms! It also fits the theme of the day since it is one of the colors of the US flag. If you are a fan of sours, I suggest you pick up one of these to celebrate the 4th! This beer was just released this month and you can learn more about it by clicking HERE.
Karen’s Pick – Oskar Blues’ Fugli
Oskar Blues’ Fugli is Making Beer Great Again! This IPA puts the hoppy in 4th of July. The can design fits the red, white, and brews theme. Not to mention, it’s the perfect grill companion! This 4th of July, I can’t wait to be sipping on this delicious IPA.
Monique’s Pick – Second Chance Beer Co Hazy IPA
This 4th of July I’ll be happily sipping on Second Chance Beer Co’s newest Hazy IPA. Lady Liberty lights America and the beer scene with nothing other than a hop. A light, fruity, and refreshing IPA is the perfect beer for your 4th of July BBQ! Here’s to America, here’s to great beer! Be sure to get your hands on this one before they are sold out!
Karla’s Pick – Oscar Blues IPA (aka The “Blue Dream” IPA)
Aryelle’s Pick – SweetWater Blue
to mind until summer hits. This beer is a wheat ale with a natural blueberry flavor. As soon as
you open the can or bottle, the blueberry aroma hits you. However, the blueberry taste is
subtle which makes it refreshing and easy to drink. Because it is not too sweet like other fruity
beers, it will have no problem fitting in with your 4th of July line up.
Pierce’s Pick – Victory’s Home Grown New American Lager
adjustment to your go-to beer lineup. The 4th is filled with hot weather, BBQ’s,
American flags, and last but not least, beer. You will need a crisp and refreshing beer
to pair with the festivities mentioned above, and what more patriotic style is there
than the classic American lager? These beers have gotten a bad rap these days as
water-downed, bland and cheap, but this is not the case with Victory’s Home Grown
New American Lager. This beer screams America, not only with its name but also
with the stars and stripes artwork that covers the can. This is not your father’s light
lager, as it is big and hoppy up front, yet juicy and crushable. The bready malt
backbone gives this beer a smoothness that you can keep enjoying until the last
firework goes off.
Kevin’s Pick – Latitude 33‘s Honey Hips
The 4th of July is about endurance: as long as you make it to the fireworks, it doesn’t matter how you got there because no matter what, you have to make it to the fireworks. However, you can’t just get blasted by the sun all day and expect to be fired up for explosions in the sky. What you need is threefold: 1) Sunscreen, so you don’t die, 2) Water, so you don’t die, and, 3) Latitude 33 Honey Hips, so you can live. This is a beer that will hang with you all day and into the night, no questions asked. At 8.3% ABV you won’t need too many, and this Blonde Ale with the as-implied sweetness of honey won’t lose flavor as the sun does its thing. For this celebration of America, keep it simple: grab a Latitude 33 Honey Hips and live free, or forget sunscreen and water and die.
