12 Days of Christmas Beers 2020
Christmas is easily one of our favorite holidays. Over the past couple of years (2019 & 2018) we started a countdown to Christmas with beers and we called it the 12 days of Christmas Beers. Since we decided to make this a Hoplight tradition we are back for 2020. All of the beers that made the 2020 list will have you feeling merry & bright all season long! Welcome to 12 Days of Christmas Beers 2020!
1. Garden Beer – Season Five by Wild Heaven Beer
Tis’ the Season for Season Five of the Garden Beer series by Wild Heaven Beer. This collaboration beer with the Atlanta Botanical Garden started off this list right. The combination of pomegranate, ginger, star anise, vanilla, and cacao nibs are a magical combination and perfect for holiday light viewing.
2. Yukon Cornelius Hazy Winter IPA by Fire Maker Brewing Company
Yukon Cornelius by Fire Maker Brewing Company is the perfect IPA for Christmas morning! This IPA is super smooth and would be ideal for a beermosa. It brings a light hop flavor without being completely overwhelmed by hops.
3. Cold Mountain Spiced Winter Ale by Highland Brewing Company
This Limited Seasonal Release by Highland Brewing is a winner when it comes to Spiced Winter Ale’s. It has notes of vanilla, hazelnut, dark fruit, and cinnamon. The beer is a mainstay in the holiday lineup for the company and continues to live up to the hype. Make sure to get some before they are gone!
4. Piano Keys Imperial Stout by New Belgium & Ale Sharpton
This beer began from a conversation about increasing the presence and participation of marginalized communities in Craft beer and is a beer dedicated to serving that specific goal. Piano Keys is a collaboration between New Belgium and Atlanta Craft beer ambassador, Ale Sharpton. This beer features rich and roasted specialty malts married with Atlanta’s own XOCOLATL cocoa nibs and Ugandan vanilla beans. It’s the perfect stout to cuddle up with next to a fire.
5. Icelandic Doppelbock by Einstök Ölgerd
The Icelandic Doppelbock is just one of Einstök Ölgerd seasonal and limited-edition winter brews. This one, in particular, has chocolate tones and when combined with malted barley creates a delicious, easy-drinking treat. With a nice warm finish, the beer is perfect for a long, and cold winter night.
6. Ginger Beard Spiced Stout by Josephsbrau Brewing Company AKA Trader Joe’s
If you are a fan of Gingerbread, this beer is for you. It tastes less like a stout and more like the Christmas season. Whether you are baking some cookies and drinking this alongside or with this beer mixed in; or making a gingerbread house, this is the perfect accompaniment.
7. Last Minute Gift Idea Imperial Stout by Steady Hand Beer Co.
If you have been procrastinating on your present buying this might be the perfect Last Minute Gift Idea. This Imperial Stout is brewed with Tahitian and Madagascar Vanilla and brings notes of chocolate and coffee. It also has some warming spice notes of cinnamon and pink peppercorn. It’s a decadent treat to keep you warm this winter.
