10 Barrel Brewing Co. To Host A Fancy Dinner in San Diego

A nod to their Fancy Beer Series, 10 Barrel Brewing Co. is hosting a Fancy Dinner at their San Diego location on Monday, October 22nd. The 4-course meal will be created by award-winning chefs Tommy Fraioli (10 Barrel San Diego) and George Morris (Executive Chef, Bos Taurus – Bend, Oregon) and paired with beer from Benny Shirley, San Diego’s head brewer. 

Chef Tommy Fraioli

Chef Tommy Fraioli isn’t a new face to the San Diego culinary scene. He previously served delicious fare at Sea Rocket Bistro and Beaumont’s Eatery. Back in 2012, Tommy won the Chef of the Fest title at the San Diego Wine & Food Festival. If you take a look at the 4-course meal, you’ll see a Duck and Foie Gras Banh Mi. Tommy’s winning dish at the festival was a deconstructed Banh Mi.

Chef George Morris

Beaumont Eatery was not only home to Chef Tommy Fraioli, but Chef George Morris as well. While working together at Beaumont, George instilled new culinary techniques to Tommy.  Chef George Morris now resides in Bend Oregon and is Executive Chef of Bos Taurus, a steakhouse with a creative twist. Since arriving in Bend, George has won already won the Bite of Bend. The Bite of Bend competition is a take on Top Chef. Eight local chefs tackled 6 secret ingredients in 6 rounds of competition, Chef George took home the gold.

Benny Shirley

Like many brewers, Benny’s rise to head brewer started at the bottom. He began serving and cleaning tanks at Bend Brewing Company. He then made his way to Deschutes Brew Pub and became a professional production brewer. Benny started with 10 Barrel Brewing Co. back in 2011 and is now the head brewer at their San Diego location. A symbol of hard work and great beer, we’re sure Benny’s beer pairings will not disappoint.
